Hiya everybody,

Just an update from Liam and Sophie – we are currently heading to Hamelin Pool in WA, dodging goats on the highway (scroll to the bottom of the Gallery to see where this is). We haven’t updated the blog since QLD because we’ve been focusing on the Instagram and enjoying our trip 🙂 Sorry! There are updates on the records and gallery pages from Babinda, QLD to Coral Bay, WA. We have explored NT and the the first half of WA. We have had 3 breakdowns, a broken window and a broken battery in the last few months so it has been a difficult time in the van and there has been little to no activity from being stranded in one spot on 3 occasions but we’re up and running and heading to Perth for a wedding yay!

Some of our best photos are drone shots and I’m so excited to share that footage because it really shows off how beautiful this state is.

We have discovered that WA is definitely our favourite state just from visiting Broome, Karijini National Park and Coral Bay so we’re excited to see what the rest of the west coast brings us 🙂 #westisbest Coral Bay has also smashed out the top of our favourites list and you’ll see why in the Gallery.

I’m going to work on reviewing places and making full lists of places not to miss because I would have loved to have this before travelling. I’m also going to keep the blog up to date more so I’ll send out more emails when it is so you can have a garn. We just visited the Quobba Blowholes so I’ll be posting those pics soon. Hiya Everyone 🙂 Thanks again for subscribing to our blog. Just an update for the moment: we are in Babinda 50 mins south of cairns and will be flying home for 4 days on the 1st of Sept! We are both so excited to come home and see our family. We are flying home this early as flights from the other side of Australia (where we’re heading) are a bit more expensive. Then after we arrive home we will be starting our journey to the Northern Territory. I have updated the gallery, records and reviews so check them out! I’ve also consolidated the stops so each pages “stops” will coincide with the next. We’ve just come from Paronella Park so we’ve got heaps of new content. There is also lots of content on our Instagram @homeiswherethevanisaus in our QLD highlights where we will be updating most days. Sorry about the late update we’ve been having some technical issues with photos etc. Thanks everyone for your interest! I will be looking into posting more articles in the future about travelling etc. so look out for those and remember to share our blog with anyone you think it might be useful/interesting for! Hi all! Sophie here. This is my first post and I would like to use it to welcome you to our blog.

A little bit about us – I am 21 and Liam is 23. Liam has been a mechanic for 6 years (handy for us on the road). I have worked in retail. We have both recently resigned from our jobs and are beginning our journey around Australia. We worked on our van for almost a year and plan to travel for a year but of course plans can change so watch this page to follow our adventure! We are leaving from the Gold Coast and plan to travel anti-clockwise around Australia.

We are “van life babies” so we have a lot to learn which we would love to share and hopefully help others interested in van life get prepared. This page should feature information about where we have travelled, tips we have for interested travellers, money we require to live our dream and other stuff we find interesting enough to post.

Photos and content will be a joint effort between Liam and I and posts will be uploaded by myself, Sophie. Please share with us any questions you’d like us to answer or places you think we can’t miss. Also feel free to subscribe if you want to get updates on where we are in our adventure and thanks for your interest!
